What you get, and what you got - sensor on the left, sensor pin with collar removed, and Unimog speedometer cable adaptor on the right.

Make a cut down the center of the adaptor..

..large enough to accept the pin.

Here is the pin in place.

Trim the pin to 24mm and connect the two pieces together.
